The Canyon Lake Golf Course winter hours are 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Daily rates are $39. Golfers are reminded that all players must check-in and pay at the Golf Pro Shop at all times when playing on the course. To make a tee time reservation, call the Pro Shop at 951-246-1782. Women’s Golf

The Women’s Golf Club will host its “Suit Me to a Tee” ladies Valentine’s Tournament on Tuesday, Feb. 13, at 8 a.m. The entry fee for the 18-hole, four-person scramble is $35. Signups are taken at the Golf Pro Shop. Prizes will be awarded to gross and net winners. A buffet lunch will follow golf.

The Women’s Golf Club is a member of Southern California Golf Association. The club meets on Tuesdays in the Magnolia Room at the country club. Players must check in before 7:30 a.m.; start time is 8 a.m. Major tournaments include the President’s Cup, Club Championship and Senior Tournament. After Lunch Bunch

Twenty-eight players showed up for last Friday’s game. The format was 2 Best Balls of the Foursome. The results are as follows:

  • 1st place: Andy Quinn, Joe Strong, Bill Levis and Ed Doidge, 134.
  • 2nd place: Tom Fuhrman, Walt Popper, Dennis Franks and Randy Bonner, 140.
  • 3rd place: Wayne Curtis, Oscar Rowland, Chuck Hudson and Sven Henrichsen, 142.

The six winners in the weekly Skins competition are Oscar Rowland on hole 1, Bob Tice on hole 4, Bill Levis on hole 7, Bob Clow on hold 8, John Stubbs on hole 10 and Andy Quinn on hole 12.

Next week’s game will is Partners Best Ball. Place can pick their own foursome. The course record for Partners Best Ball is 54, set on Mar. 17, 2017, by the team of Joe Washle and Nick Valencia. A sleeve of balls will be awarded to the golfers closest to the pin on holes 8 and 15.

Now in its 38th year, the After Lunch Bunch offers a friendly game of golf every Friday throughout the year. The group plays an 18-hole tournament. Entries are open to all male golfers with an established handicap. The entry fee is $5 with an optional 25 maximum Skins game. Tee time is 10 a.m. with signups taken between 8:30 and 9:15 a.m. in the Magnolia Room at the country club or by phone at 951- 249-4565 or 951-237-6102.

Men’s Golf Club

Members of the Canyon Lake Men’s Golf Club meet for play every Wednesday morning. Signups are taken between 6:30 and 7:30 a.m. in the Magnolia Room at the country club. In addition to Wednesday games, the club sponsors eight major tournaments throughout the year. Dues include membership in the Southern California Golf Association. Canyon Lake residents and property owners age 18 and older are eligible. The club has added a Junior Membership Division for males under the age of 18. 9ers Golf Club

The 9ers Golf Club is a member of the Women’s Southern California Golf Association. Ladies who are interested in playing golf and making new friends are invited to play with the 9ers Golf Club; all levels of golfers are welcome.

The club meets at 8:30 a.m. on Thursdays in the Magnolia Room at the country club and tees off at 9 a.m. For more information, call Linda Kielty at 951-746-2250.

Junior Golf Lessons

Junior golf lessons are available for children ages seven to 17. Lessons are $25 per half hour. Reservations are taken at the Golf Pro Shop.

Golf Pro Shop

The Golf Pro Shop at the country club features the latest in golf clubs from Ping, Mizuno, Callaway and Titleist. It also stocks Nike, EP Pro, Antigua and Foot Joy golf apparel. Canyon Lake Property Owner’s Association members receive a 20 percent discount on women’s and men’s apparel.
