Planning underway for this year’s Fiesta Day

Planning is already underway for Fiesta Day 2018. This year’s theme, “Fiesta Day Celebrates Cheers to 50 Years,” celebrates the Canyon Lake Property Owners Association’s 50th birthday.

Fiesta Day takes place on the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend and has been the opening event for summer for more than 40 years. The community-wide event attracts more than 5,000 spectators.

It takes many volunteers to put on Fiesta Day, which is considered to be the granddaddy of all Canyon Lake events. The Fiesta Day Committee is seeking volunteers to help put the event together. The committee member positions open are Traffic/Security Coordinator and Sponsorship and Advertising Coordinator. The committee is also looking for volunteers who are interested in helping plan the event or volunteer the day of the event.

The Fiesta Day Committee meetings have already begun. Those interested in helping should contact the POA Activities department at 951-244-6841 x610. Interested residents are also welcome to attend the next meeting on Friday, Jan. 26, at 9:30 a.m. in the POA Conference Room.
