The Canyon Lake City Council honored residents, clubs and sponsors at its January city council meeting for their substantial contributions toward Canyon Lake’s annual Veterans Day Celebration.
The council honored and presented awards to the Veterans Day Committee, David and Barbara Spraul for their monetary contribution toward the War Birds West flyover, Canyon Lake Choraleers for their annual performances, Emergency Preparedness Committee for providing a first aid station each year, Canyon Lake POA for providing pasties and water, Jordan and Jennie Ehrenkranz for the purchase of the wreath and flowers, Canyon Lake Market and Caldwell Banker for complimentary food and drinks and the Home Owners Club, Jack Wamsley and Warren Kelsey for their contribution of the flags.
The Men’s Golf Club, Chair Volleyball Club, Fine Arts Guild, Tennis Club, Car Club, Chamber of Commerce and other generous sponsors were honored for their monetary contributions.
“The city is so lucky to have such tremendous support for this event, from the magnificent seven, Karen Bevans, Debby Gagnon, Bert Barbay, Fran Tibbet, Judy Blanks, Donna Lovejoy and Jill Batinich, who are the core of our volunteer organizers, to the individuals and clubs who give so generously,” said Mayor Vicki Warren.
“Celebrating our veterans is a privilege and a honor and we will continue to strive to give the best we can to our heroes.”
