CLAMS

CLAMS has a new location and date. The first dinner meeting of 2018 will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 17, at 5:30 p.m. at the country club. Dinner will be Chicken Alfredo and costs $10 per person. Reservations are required for an accurate count. To RSVP, contact Harry Larson at 949-677-1155.

Members are encouraged to bring guests, including those who live outside Canyon Lake. A T-shirt and golf towel will be given to guests who join the club. The club intends to have a guest speaker at each dinner meeting. Meetings are held from 5:30 to 9:30 on the third Wednesday of the month except April, June, July, August, September and December when there will be other activities. Car Club

The Car Club holds monthly meetings on the first Thursday in the Holiday Bay Room at the lodge. Anyone owning a pre-1973 vehicle is welcomed. Social hour begins at 5:30 p.m. followed by the general meeting at 6:30 p.m. At the meeting members learn about upcoming events, listen to guest speakers and share automotive experiences. Street Carts of Canyon Lake

The Street Carts of Canyon Lake is a golf cart club that holds community events to raise funds for its charitable work. The club hosts the annual Golf Cart Parade, community Poker Run and Golf Cart Drive-in Movie Night. Club membership is $25 for a lifetime membership.

Bassmasters Club

The Bassmasters Club meets on the first Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. in the Magnolia Room at the country club. Residents who like to fish and want to improve their skills in a low stress, friendly competitive environment are welcome to join. Twirlers Square Dance Club

Dances are held every Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and once a month on the second Sunday from 1:30 to 5 p.m. at the Kay Ceniceros Senior Center in Menifee. For more information, call Jackie Brown at 951-694-3650.

Woman’s Club

The Woman’s Club meets monthly on the third Wednesday in the Holiday Bay Room at the lodge. Vendor hour is from 9 to 10 a.m.; meeting begins at 10 a.m. Lunch is $14. Travel Club

A multi-day cruise to Hawaii is planned for Mar. 4 through Mar. 19. There is no airfare; boarding and disembark is in San Pedro. Visit the clubs website at canyonlaketravelclub.com for more information.

Yacht Club

Yacht Club meetings are held on the fourth Thursday of the month in the Holiday Bay Room at the lodge; cocktail hour is 5 p.m., dinner is 6 p.m., meeting begins at 7 p.m. Dinner is $15. Boat ownership is not a criterion for membership. Annual membership is $15.

Tennis Club

The Tennis Club invites residents to come out for social play on Mondays and Fridays at 9 a.m. Social play is a free activity open to all levels of players and is a great way to meet other players without committing to a schedule. Community Theatre

The purpose of the Canyon Lake Community Theatre is to provide the community with access to the performing arts by providing a platform and showcase for local talent. The club engages and entertains the community by providing theatre experience for all ages, from all youth productions to its musicals under the stars. Men’s Softball

Bible Fellowship Club

Monthly club meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. in the Activity Building at East Port Park. Meetings are open to the community. The meetings open with prayer and praise music followed by exploring and diving into God’s word, the Holy Bible, refreshments and fellowship. For more information, call Steve Martin at 951-757-6146.

Tuesday Work Group

The Tuesday Work Group (TWG) consists of more than 40 volunteers dedicated to mostly improving the golf course. TWG meets every Tuesday at 7 a.m. in the golf maintenance yard during the months of October through June. Committee Board meetings are held on the last Tuesday of the month at 1 p.m. in Magnolia Room at the country club. CLAA

Mexican Train Players

Pinochle Club

Wakeboard Club

The Canyon Lake Wakeboard Club caters to everyone from beginner to the most advanced rider. The club promotes the sport by sponsoring Learn to Wakeboard Day events. For more information, visit the club’s website at canyonlakewake.com.

ShowCal Skiers

ShowCal Skiers is a sanctioned club and California’s first and only show ski club. Skills training is taught for all aspects of the ski show, including audio/visual, announcing/hosting, drivers/power team, safety coordinators and equipment.

Ski disciplines include two skis, slalom, barefoot, trick, shoe ski, swivel, ballet, jump, doubles, trios, adagio, human pyramids, ATB, kneeboard, disc, wakeboard, wakeskate, foil, free-style and hot dogging. Members incorporate all types of performance artistry in their water-ski shows. JWC

The Canyon Lake Jr. Women’s Club is a non-profit philanthropic club that holds fundraising events throughout the year to help fund scholarship programs, help local families in need, donate to park improvements in Canyon Lake and more. Roadrunners RV Club

Any resident who owns an RV is welcome to join the club. The club holds dinner meetings on the second Tuesday of each month at the lodge during winter months and at Roadrunner Park during the summer month. Social hour begins at 5 p.m., dinner is served at 6 p.m. In addition to monthly dinner meetings, the club takes six to eight trips per year. More than 125 members belong to the club. CLAWS

All Canyon Lake women are invited to attend the Canyon Lake Association of Women (CLAWS) group bunco at 3 p.m. on the second Wednesday of the month in the Magnolia Room at the country club. The cost is $10 per player. Participants are asked to bring canned and packaged food for the community cupboard. For more information, call Rose Hanover at 951-244-6109.

Lions Club

The club meets monthly on the second Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Sunset Room at the lodge. The club was formed January 23, 1975, and was one of the first clubs in Canyon Lake. The club is part of the largest service organization in the world. The members collect used eyeglasses to aid in the organization’s goal to help those with sight problems. Lioness Club

The club meets monthly on the third Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in the Holiday Bay Room at the lodge. Anyone who would like to attend a meeting should call Mary Craton at 915-244-7859.

Chair Volleyball

The Chair Volleyball Club is for seniors 50 years of age and older. The club promotes fitness fun and the spirit of competition through organized playing of Chair Volleyball. The game is played using a beach ball and a 5 ft. net while players are seated. The club participates in the Senior Olympics. Bosom Buddies

Kids Club

The Kids Club is a program in which young children and their parents or grandparents enjoy a morning of crafts, music, exercise, games, sports and a snack for just $2 per session. Those who purchase a 10-class punch card will receive two classes free. Punch cards can be purchased in class. Classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 to 11 a.m. in the Pool View Room at the lodge. Visit the club’s Facebook page for more information.

Home Owners Club

Organized in 1972, the club promotes and protects the best interest of Canyon Lake home and property owners. Sponsored community events include the Home Decorating Contest and Meet the Candidates. For more information, call LaRue McNamara at 951-244-6470.

Mommy n Me

Mommy n Me is for moms and their children ages 18 months to five years old to meet up for local play dates in and around the community. Meetings are every other Friday from 9 to 11 a.m. Registration is $60, $50 for each sibling, and covers all snacks and planned events for the semester. Spots are limited. Choraleers

The Choraleers is a vocal group of men and women who enjoy singing in a choral group that performs spring and fall concerts, including combinations of selected singers and solo performances. Membership includes more than 35 members as well as a director and pianist. Membership is open to residents and those in nearby communities. Cub Scouts

K-9 Club

K-9 Club members generally meet daily in the evening to socialize at the East Port Park Dog Park.

Torah Club

The Torah Club promotes the principles of Torah in a non-denominational way and applies the principles of Torah to performing good deeds and charitable acts for the community at large. All ages are welcome. For more information, contact Sherry Reiter at cokette@verizon.net.

Family Matters Club

The Family Matters Club is open to all residents, young and old, kids or no kids. The club puts on several events throughout the year to benefit the community and raise funds for philanthropic donations. Events are free or low-cost to attend. Little League

The 2018 spring registration is now open. Registration ends Jan. 8. Evaluations for players league ages five and older will be held on Jan. 11 and Jan. 13. Parents interested in managing a team in the AA and above divisions must attend a mandatory interview on Thursday, Jan. 4, at 5:30 p.m. in the Magnolia Room at the country Club. Fitness and Triathlon Club

The club promotes healthy lifestyles through swimming, cycling, running and other cross-training activities. The club hosts the annual Tour de Canyon Lake and Paddle & Pedal Regatta events. Pickleball Club

The Pickleball Club welcomes beginners and regular players for social play on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 to 11 a.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. during the winter months.
