Kids Club decorates first community Christmas tree

The Canyon Lake Kids Club is proud to announce that they decorated a tree for the community this year, a first for the club.

The children decorated the tree with finger painted ornaments they made last week. Every child who attended class has an ornament with their name on it hanging on the tree along with ornaments made out of wooden alphabet blocks. The tree is set up on the median near the main gate.

During class the children learned about real Christmas trees and listened to the story Max & Ruby’s Christmas Tree. After decorating the tree the kids  enjoyed hot cocoa and gingerbread cookies.

In December, the kids will be treated to holiday crafts and a Christmas party with a special guest on Dec. 21.

The Canyon Lake Kids Club is a program in which young children and their parents or grandparents enjoy a morning of crafts, music, exercise, games, sports and a snack for just $2 per session.

Classes are led by Sarah Card and Christie Hall and held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 to 11 a.m. in the Pool View Room at the lodge. For more information, visit the club’s Facebook page.
