Resident Meagan Newlin named Student of the Month

Meagan Newlin, a senior at Temescal Canyon High School and a 10-year resident of Canyon Lake, was among the seven Lake Elsinore Unified School District high school seniors recognized by the Student of the Month Program on Nov. 14, under the auspices of the Lake Elsinore Valley Chamber of Commerce and BMW, Management, Inc. program founder Sally Meyers.

Meagan said AP Calculus is one of her favorite classes and that she plans to study theoretical mathematics at a four-year university after she graduates.

Meagan’s sports activities at TCHS include three years of water polo, one year of varsity golf and four years on the swim team. Other school activities include serving as the treasure of the Art Club.

A life lesson she will take to college is the value of friendships, she told an audience of 100 who were gathered for a Student of the Month luncheon.
