City collects 80 turkeys during Turkey Drive

Eighty turkeys and 80 grocery bags filled with food items were donated during the city’s two hour Turkey Drive on Thursday, Nov. 16, at city hall.

The food collected was donated to Helping Our People in Elsinore (H.O.P.E.) Services provided by H.O.P.E. help to benefit Canyon Lake families in need.

The majority of the turkeys were donated by Coldwell Banker agents who donated 25 turkeys and 25 bags of food. The POA partnered with its vendor Sysco to donate 16 turkeys and Car Club members donated 10. The Torkelsons, Bonners and Hortons were among the residents who donated two turkeys.

The city thanks the residents, businesses and clubs who participated in this year Turkey Drive. The donations will enable the community’s most vulnerable residents and their families to enjoy the holidays this year.
