Canyon Lake bowling teams compete in Laughlin

Members of the Thursday night Canyon Lake bowling league traveled to Laughlin, Nevada, on Nov. 11 to play in the Sweeps. Thirty-two members from eight teams competed for cash prizes at the state-of-the-art bowling center at Don Laughlin’s Riverside Resort and Casino.

The Rats Cats team, Rick Toczek, Cathy Gawrych and Tom and Marisa Piedmore, took first place. Cindy Jacobs was the big winner and came home with the most money. Ian Dodd came in second.

“It was nice to see so many Canyon Lakers win, said League Secretary Dede Toczek. “We enjoyed celebrating at the Riverside after the Sweeps.”

The fall league will start up after the holidays. The league bowls on Thursday evenings at 6:30 p.m. at Pins n’ Pockets in Lake Elsinore. New bowlers are welcome to join. For more information, contact Dede at 951-285-2676.
