The 9th annual “Many Wonders of Christmas” presents an Old Fashioned Christmas on Saturday, Nov. 18, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Canyon Lake Community Church.
Canyon Lake women are invited to the luncheon which features 30 lighted, themed and decorated trees offered in an opportunity drawing, entertainment and a drawing for a handmade Christmas quilt. The decorative 3-ft high trees are decorated by local artists, businesses and volunteers.
The lunch menu features chicken marsala, rice, vegetables, Caesar salad and dessert. The husbands of the wives on the Many Wonders Committee will be serving as waiters.
The Many Wonders of Christmas luncheon started nine years ago as a kickoff to the Christmas season and as an outreach for women’s ministries. The committee works through the year to attend to every detail, from the menu to the favors, centerpieces, decorations, speakers, music and the Christmas trees.
Tickets are $20 or a table for $160. Reserve a ticket by calling Lynda Ofstad at 951-244-7866. Tickets can also be purchased before and after services on Nov. 12. The proceeds from the 2018 luncheon will be donated to Women’s Activities at the church.
