Rick Derringer wows audience with performance

More than 200 concertgoers attended the Rick Derringer concert at the lodge on Saturday. Rick, along with band members Charlie Torres and Kenn Moutenot, entertained the crowd for nearly two hours. At 70 years old, most concertgoers would agree that Rick is still at the top of his game. The set list included some of Rick’s most notable hits: “Hang On Sloopy” “Rock and Roll Hoochie Koo” and the Grammy-nominated “Frankenstein” and “Free Ride.”

After the show, concertgoers were treated to a Meet and Greet, autographs and photo opportunities.

The Derriner concert is the final concert in the POA’s 2017 Concerts at the Lodge series. The 2018 line up includes saxophonist Warren Hill, The Surf City All Stars, featuring original Beach Boy David Marks and Dean Torrence of Jan & Dean, Country music artist Keith Anderson and new wave band Berlin. Tickets for 2018 concerts go on sale Monday at the POA office and on the POA website at canyonlakepoa.com.
