Family Matters Club hosts Halloween Carnival

More than 140 costumed children attended the Family Matters Club’s 4th annual Halloween Carnival and Costume Contest at Holiday Harbor. The event included dozens of game booths, crafts, face painting, vendors and bounce how fun. Resident DJ Aprile DeAnne provided the Halloween music and entertained the kids with games and dances such as Monster Mash and Pass the Bones.

Thunder from Storm Stadium made a special appearance to help judge the Costume Contest and pose for photos with the children.

Chuck Casey ran the snack bar, offering up hot dogs and nachos along with Halloween snacks such as popcorn balls, caramel apple cupcakes and eyeball gum.

The event concluded with a costume contest and raffle winners.

The winners of the Costume Contest, judged by volunteer Jacquelyn Warmbir, are as follows:

Most Scary: Cameron, skeleton

Most Original: Tiffany and Aiden, crayons

Cutest: Lilly and Zoe, Scarecrow and Tin Man

Thunder’s Choice: Stone, Jack Skellington

Proceeds from this event go back to support the club’s philanthropic work.
