Local golfers finish second in SCGA Championship

Local golfers Tom Faia and Marcus Schonabaum, representing the Canyon Lake Men’s Golf Club, earned a second place finish at the 38th SCGA Four-Ball Net Championship Sept. 25 and 26.

More than 150 teams from golf clubs throughout southern California competed in the tournament with the final rounds played at Braemar Country Club in Tarzana, California.

Marcus and Tom, who has not previously played at the difficult Braemar course (slope rating 130 from the back tees), combined to shoot 10 under par and post the second lowest total of all teams entered.
