Sisters log 3,600 miles on road trip to national parks

Sisters Janine Pennell and Lynda Salina, along with their husbands Larry and Chris, took a road trip to visit Zion Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Mount Rushmore and Yellowstone Park.

“We were filled with great emotion seeing such beauty in our national parks” said Janine. “Seeing Mount Rushmore and the honoring of service men and women in the evening service was so special. Larry and all the others went forward on the stage for the flag ceremony and honoring of our service people.”
The foursome planned to visit Coeur d’Alene, a city in northwest Idaho known for water sports and trails, but decided against it due to the fires.

“Idaho was completely smoked out because of the fires, so we decided to go south out of Yellowstone through the Grand Tetons and Jackson Hole, Wyoming. There again the smoke had engulfed this area, you couldn’t see anything,” said Janine.

The group logged 3,600 miles on their 12-day road trip.
