Car Club members win at Freedom Run Car Show

Members of the Canyon Lake Car Club participated in the Car Show held on Saturday at Menifee’s 2nd annual Freedom Run. The event was hosted by Santa Rosa Academy.

Joe Dombay won a Best Engine award, Mark Bann won a Best Modified award and Russ Smith won a Best 50s award.

The show brought out a variety of cars, vendors and spectators. Multiple car clubs shared in the experience. In addition to the Car Show, the event featured a 5K, 3K, family activities and educational fun for the kids. Proceeds from the event went back to the school.

The Canyon Lake Car Club holds monthly meetings on the first Thursday in the Holiday Bay Room at the lodge. Anyone owning a pre-1973 vehicle is welcomed. Social hour begins at 5:30 p.m. followed by the general meeting at 6:30 p.m. At the meeting members learn about upcoming events, listen to guest speakers and share automotive experiences.
