Ty Herndon gives memorable performance at lodge

Hundreds of Canyon Lakers packed the Holiday Bay Room at the lodge on Saturday for a chance to see Grammy nominated country music artist Ty Herndon perform. Ty sang many of his memorable hits as well as hits from other artists. In between songs, Ty charmed the audience with his humor and humbleness.

Concert goers who stayed after the show were given the opportunity to meet the singer who posed for photos and signed autographs for more than an hour.

Lance Allen, West Coast Country Music Association’s Country Male Entertainer and Vocalist of the Year, opened the show. This was Lance’s second performance for a Canyon audience. He opened for Darryl Worley at the lodge in October 2016.

The next and final artist to perform in the 2017 Concerts at the Lodge series will be rock and blues legend Rick Derringer on Nov. 4. “Hang On Sloopy” and “Rock and Roll, Hoochie Koo,” are among Rick’s smash hits.

Opening for Rick will be One Guy and a Chick, featuring Canyon Lake resident Aprile DeAnne. Aprile was the opening act for Berlin when they performed at the lodge in June.

Tickets to the Rick Derringer concert are on sale now. General admission tickets are $30; reserved VIP tickets are $55. Tickets can be purchased on line at canyonlakepoa.com. General admission tickets can be purchased at the POA office.

At the beginning of this final show, Concert Promoter Doug Schultz will be announcing the acts for the 2018 Concert at the Lodge series.  The Concerts at the Lodge series, launched by the POA in 2015,  brings quality national musicians to the Canyon Lake community. These concerts thrill music lovers across all genres and generations.  Some notable past performers have included David Cook, Collin Raye, Hal Ketchum, Berlin, John Anderson,  Suzy Bogguss and Darryl Worley.
