Save the date for 12th annual Canyon Lake Car Show

The Canyon Lake Car Club will host the 12th annual Canyon Lake Car Show on Saturday, Oct. 7, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the lodge. Admission is free. The Car Show is considered the second largest annual event in Canyon Lake.

The show will feature approximately 300 pre-1977 classic and custom cars and trucks, more than 20 vendor booths, awards, music by High Energy Sounds and a 50/50 opportunity drawing. The lodge will be open for lunch and breakfast. Breakfast burritos, street tacos, ice cream and kettle corn are some of the items that will be available for purchase. There will be three bars offering car show drink specials.

A post Car Show Dinner Dance will take place at 6 p.m. in the Holiday Bay Room. This year’s theme is Sock Hop. The cost is $25 and includes appetizers, dinner, dessert and a live band. Pre-paid tickets are required. For tickets, contact chuckcasey@gmail.com. A few tickets may be available at the Information Booth the day of the Car Show.

Owners of pre-1977 cars and trucks are invited to participate in the Car Show. Registration is $25 and includes T-shirt, reusable goodie bag and magnetic dash plaque. Early registration is recommended. More than 25 trophies will be presented at 3 p.m. Cars will be judged by peers, industry professionals, POA staff and City staff. Car registration form can be downloaded from the Canyon Lake Car Club website at canyonlakecarclub.com.

There will be a post show Classic Car Cruise around the lake (route to be determined but same as last year). Residents are invited to line the streets along the “Cruise” route as cars cruise through Canyon Lake after the awards presentation.

All proceeds from the Car Show are returned to the community through donations to resident needs, scholarships to local high schools, other Canyon lake clubs and committees, community park improvements, Canyon Lake fire station, Canyon Lake Emergency Preparedness Committee, Veterans Committee and veteran charities, to name a few.
