Jr. Women’s Club gears up for its new season

The Canyon Lake Jr. Women’s Club (JWC) held its first meeting of the 2017/2018 calendar year on Wednesday, Sept. 6. The new board members are: Alissa Rackstraw, president; Heather Rose, vice president; Fran Pucillo, treasurer; Mallorie Hardcastle, secretary.

JWC is non-profit philanthropic club that holds fundraising events throughout the year to help fund scholarship programs, help local families in need, donate to park improvements in Canyon Lake, and more.

The club is gearing up for its annual Rocktoberfest and Holiday Boutique events. Both events are free and open to the community.

The 3rd annual Rocktoberfest will be held on Saturday, Oct. 21, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Holiday Harbor and will feature local craft beer tasting (for a fee), vendors, live music, games and food by the Urban Craft Eatery.

The annual Holiday Boutique will be held on Nov. 18 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Holiday Bay Room and on the lodge grounds. This event will feature more than 50 vendor booths with items for sale ranging from art and home decor to jewelry and cosmetics. JWC meetings are held at 7 p.m. on the first Wednesday of the each month from September through June.
