Suspicious phone call prompts school lockdown

Temescal Canyon High School was placed on lockdown on Sept. 1, at approximately 9:45 a.m., for the safety of the students and staff in reference to a suspicious phone call.

As a precautionary measure, officers conducted an exhaustive search of the campus and surrounding area to identify any possible threat. The search involved school resource officers, Lake Elsinore Police and Sheriff’s officers, members of the Sheriff’s Special Enforcement Bureau, a Sheriff’s helicopter and officers from surrounding agencies.

“After completing the search, no evidence of any threat to the students, staff, or surrounding community was identified, according to the press release.

The lockdown was lifted at approximately 12:10 p.m.
