Residents say aloha to summer at Maui Monday

Residents gathered at Sunset Beach on Monday evening to enjoy summer’s final aloha. The 5th annual Maui Monday, sponsored by the POA, brought the tastes of islands to “a little bit of paradise.” The event featured a Hawaiian themed menu prepared by the Lighthouse Restaurant, contests and music by local DJ Mike Shroyer of Good Time Entertainment, a water slide for the youngsters and performances by the Polynesian Entertainment Group. The POA provided 300 complimentary leis.

After the sun set, the highlights of the evening were the hula dancers, Samoan drummers, fire dancers and traditional Polynesian dances performed by the talented members of the professional Polynesian Entertainment Group. The children joined in on several occasions with dancing to live Polynesian music.

Say aloha to summer, winter is right around the corner.
