Owners of pre-1977 cars and trucks are invited to participate in the Canyon Lake Car Club’s 12th annual Canyon Lake Car Show on Saturday, Oct. 7, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the lodge. The Car Show is considered the second largest annual event in Canyon Lake. Approximately 300 pre-1977 classic and custom cars and trucks will be on display.
Registration is $25 and includes T-shirt, re-usable goodie bag and magnetic dash plaque. Early registration is recommended. More than 25 trophies will be presented at 3 p.m. Cars will be judged by peers, industry professionals, POA staff and City staff.
The Car Show is open to spectators from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Admission is free.
The show will feature more than 20 vendor booths, awards, DJ, and 50/50 opportunity drawing. The lodge will be open for lunch and breakfast. Breakfast burritos, street tacos, ice cream and kettle corn are some of the items that will be available for purchase. There will be two bars with car show drink specials.
A post Car Show Dinner Dance featuring a live band and dinner will take place in the evening in the Holiday Bay Room at the lodge. Tickets are $25.
Residents are invited to line the streets along the “Cruise” route as cars cruise through Canyon Lake after the awards presentation. Cars will cruise from the lodge down Canyon Club Dr. to Canyon Lake Dr., where they will turn right.
The cars will continue to Village Way Dr. and turn right again. Passing Holiday Harbor, they will continue as the road turns into Loch Lomond Dr., then Sparkle Dr. When the cars reach Canyon Lake Dr. again, they will turn left and go back over the causeway and turn left on Vacation Dr. They will continue to Longhorn where they will turn left towards Happy Camp. From Happy Camp, they will head back towards the lodge.
As a 5013c non-profit organization, the Car Show donates all its profits to various groups and causes in and outside Canyon Lake. It has given funds to the Canyon Lake Veterans Memorial, Canyon Lake Emergency Preparedness Committee, charity golf tournaments and student scholarships, to name a few.
