Enjoy ‘Smooth Sounds’ of Santana at the lodge

“Smooth Sounds,” billed as the number one rated Santana tribute band in the country, will be performing in the Holiday Bay Room at the lodge on Oct. 14 at 7 p.m.

The concert is sponsored by the Canyon Lake Fine Arts Guild. Guild President Travis Montgomery said, “Those in attendance will hear all of Santana’s biggest hits as well as some lesser known classics that will have even the most die-hard fans reminiscing about back in the day”.

Featuring burning renditions of classics such as “Evil Wars,” “Black Magic Woman” and “Oye Como Va,” plus breathtaking ballads, Smooth Sounds of Santana captures the multicultural sound and spirit that have made Santana a rock radio mainstay for decades. This retrospective-style show finds Smooth Sounds of Santana performing tunes from all eras of Santana’s storied career, from the group’s early Woodstock days to more recent smash like “Smooth.”

“If you like Santana, you’ll love this concert and won’t want to miss it, as they not only sound like, but look like an actual Santana concert” said Guild Program Director Ron Martel. “From the tone of the guitars to the sound of the keyboard and Latin percussion, you’ll hear that iconic Santana sound.”

The band got its start in Canada and after relocating to southern California, their mission was simple; faithfully recreate the music of Santana as it was originally recorded. The seven seasoned musicians that make up this band say that they give it all up on stage. Founding member, Gary Albano said, “Judging from the reaction of audiences that have seen us play, we pretty much hit the mark.”

Tickets to this concert are on sale now. VIP tickets with reserved seating are $45; general admission (and Guild sponsor) tickets are $25. Tickets are available online at the Guild website at canyonlakeguild.com or by calling (800)-838-3006. General admission tickets can be purchased at the POA office.
