Save the date for annual Freedom Run and Car Show

The community is invited to Menifee’s 2nd annual Freedom run on Sept. 16 at Santa Rosa Academy, 27587 La Piedra Road, Menifee.

This event kicks off at 8:30 a.m. with a Red, White and Blue Tie-Dye 5K Run, followed by a family 3K at 10 a.m. All runners will receive a free T-shirt if registered by Sept. 1.

Prizes will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd fastest completion times. The fasted 5K time will receive two Disneyland tickets.

A vendor fair, featuring more than 30 vendors, Chili Cook Off and Car Show will take place after the Freedom Run. The event will also feature a children’s engineering class, free education fun and more.

Wristbands will be available for purchase for jumpers, petting zoo and other activities. Chili Cook Off admission is $10 for unlimited tastings; $5 for children ages five to 10. The entry fee for competing in the Chili Cook Off is $50. The registration deadline is Sept. 9. To register, contact Mary at 951-757-6486.

All proceeds will be donated to the Santa Rosa Academy Foundation to help support future programs. Santa Rosa Academy serves more than 100 Canyon Lake kids.
