Family Matters Club hosts Western Barbecue

The Canyon Lake Family Matters Club held its first Western Barbecue on Saturday from 3 to 6 p.m. at Indian Beach where children enjoyed a petting zoo, pony rides, carnival games, bounce houses and crafts that included western sun catchers and jewelry.

Beautiful tree filled Indian Beach was converted into a country western hoedown where attendees enjoyed country music and line dancing.

Mckenzie Lawson, Wyatt Pirkle and Hannah Goering won the Watermelon Contest in their age group.

Mickey France won half the pot and a poker table  in the Dart Poker 50/50.

Vendors Magnolia and Vine won the Best Decorated Booth. There were a total of 36 vendors in all.

The funds raised from this event go back to the community for family events.

The Family Matters Club is open to all residents, young and old, kids or no kids. The club puts on several events throughout the year to benefit the community and raise funds for philanthropic donations. Events are free or low-cost to attend.
