Family Matters Club offer seniors free spaghetti dinner

The Family Matters Club invites all senior citizens in the community to the senior center for a free spaghetti dinner on Sunday at 5 p.m. Dinner will include salad, spaghetti, meatballs, garlic bread and dessert. Attendees should bring their own drink.

In addition to dinner, the club will raffle off a prize and the senior center will provide music.

Reservations are not required; simply show up and enjoy a meal and the company of other seniors in the community. For more information, call 714-394-4885.

The Family Matters Club has a few more upcoming events planned for the community. The club is hosting a Reptile Party for kids on Friday, Aug. 4, at 12 p.m. in the Holiday Bay Room at the lodge. Snakes, lizards, spiders and frogs are a few of the reptiles kids will be able to see up close.

The club will host a Western Barbecue for the community on Saturday, Aug. 19, from 3 to 6 p.m. at Indian Beach. This event will feature country music, square dancing demonstrations and lessons, watermelon eating contest, craft and game booths, face painting and a kid’s zone featuring pony rides, jumpers, petting zoo and a mechanical bull. Pat’s Famous BBQ will offer small ($6) and full ($15) lunch plates.

The Family Matters Club is open to all residents, young and old, kids or no kids. The club puts on several events throughout the year to benefit the community and raise funds its philanthropy projects.
