Volunteer Spotlight: Suzanne “Suzi” Delia

Suzanne “Suzi” Delia moved to Canyon Lake in 2005. She became an active volunteer in the community the following year. Suzi is a member of the Woman’s Club, Travel Club, Yacht Club and a founding member of the Car Club.

Suzi’s volunteer work in the Woman’s Club is extensive. She has held the positions of president, first vice president, treasurer, programs, historian and newsletter. She has served as co-chair for the Woman’s Club Fashion Show and, for several years, has served as the club’s Fiesta Day chairperson. She also served on the Philanthropy Committee and Scholarship Committee.

Suzi has hosted three Woman’s Club Fashion Show pre-parties at her home and featured her home on the club’s Holiday Home Tour.

As a founding member of the Car Club, Suzi helped to get the club sanctioned in 2007. She has served as the club’s secretary and as registration coordinator for the annual Canyon Lake Car Show and for members who enter the Big Bear Car Show.

Suzi has been a member of the Yacht Club since 2007. She’s served as purser (treasurer) for two years and as a member of the Parade of Lights judging team. She heads up the club’s Christmas tree set-up, annual Parade of Lights and Lake Clean-up Day.

She also offers her home for the club’s annual Progressive Dinner. The most notable float in the Parade of Lights, the Yacht Club’s 60-foot fire-breathing Green Dragon, is stored at her home and assembled on her boat.

Suzi has been a member of the Travel Club for 11 years and currently holds the position of publicity.
