Berlin performs at lodge to sold out audience

New wave band Berlin performed at the lodge on Saturday to a sold out audience. The band had the crowd on their feet and singing along to their popular 80s hits during most of the concert. The set list included Berlin’s classic “No More Words” and their best selling single “Take My Breath Away.” They closed the show with a rendition of AC/DC’s “Highway to Hell.”

In honor of Terri’s birthday, the crowd sang “Happy Birthday” to her and a few fans presented her with cards and flowers.

Local entertainer and Canyon Lake resident Aprile DeAnne opened the show. “Opening for one of my favorite bands from my teenage years is an honor,” said Aprile. Aprile’s set list included songs from Journey, Pat Benatar and Madonna.

The next artist to perform in the Concerts at the Lodge series is contemporary country music artist Ty Herndon. Ty will perform in the Holiday Bay Room at the lodge on Saturday, Sept. 9. General Admission tickets are $25; VIP tickets are $50. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at Member Services at the POA office and online at canyonlakepoa.com.

Rock and blues legend and Grammy Award winner Rick Derringer will perform on Nov. 4. Rick has played with John and Edgar Winter, Steely Dan and The McCoys. “Rock & Roll Hoochie Koo,” “Hang on Sloopy” and “Rikki Don’t Lose that Number” are some of the mega hits Rick produced. General Admission tickets are $30; VIP tickets are $55.

Concert promoter Doug Schultz urges resident to purchase concert tickets early to avoid not being able to purchase due to sold out shows.

“Starting in August, I’m going to start reviewing artists and their ability to perform in Canyon Lake. during the Rick Derringer show we will announce concert dates and talent line up for 2018,” said Doug.
