Residents write Father’s Day tributes to dads

Billy Spencer

Eleven-year-old Billy said his dad is special because “He protects me and takes time off work to go boating, camping and takes me to visit family I don’t always see. I am lucky to have a father that takes care of me and loves me.” Billy’s eight-year-old brother Chase said, “Sorry I gave you gray hairs dad but I love how you take care of me. I have so many things to say you. You are the best dad.”

Fourteen-year-old Hailey Cuzzart and nine-year-old Haley Belier said their dad/step-dad is special because “He has two daughters with the same name. When there is a problem he is always there to help us and make us feel better. He is special because he is always there to protect us. What makes him more special is that we love him very much.”

Kevin Kuenzie

Thirteen-year-old Evan and seven-year-old Kruz said their dad is special because “He has loved us since he met our momma. He always puts us first, watches all our races and takes us fishing and golfing. We love our dada.”

Seventeen-year-old Sarah Morrison and her big sister Brittaney said their dad is the best because “He always puts others before himself. He has a fun personality that can light up any room. Not only has he been a great example of love and hard work, but a wonderful example of what it looks like to put God first no matter what we do. We love you Daddy, you’re the best dad ever.”

Seventeen-year-old Katelynn Macias said her dad is special because “He simply takes time for me and we enjoy a lot of fun together. I love my dad so much and am Blessed he’s my daddy and my friend. He’s there whenever I need him, in good and bad times, and he will never change from being the number one man in my life and my heart. He will never stop being my favorite superhero.”

Fifteen-year-olds Amanda and Brianna and thirteen-year-old Conner said their dad is special because “he is talented in many ways and helps us improve in sports and school. We love playing tennis, playing water polo and swimming with him. We also love going camping and on the lake as a family. We would not have so much fun if he did not cook such great meals or drive us everywhere we need to go. Dad, we love you so much. Happy Father’s Day. Love, ABC.”

Madison Bailey said her father is special because “He is a truly amazing father. I couldn’t be anymore thankful for a wonderful dad and Papa to Mia. We’re truly blessed to have such a wonderful man in our lives. Happy Father’s Day Dad. We love you.”

Jamie Nagle said, “Our dad is special because he taught his daughter Brandy to be a strong woman. Dad taught her to water ski at age four. She later became a national champion. Dad taught me to read. I won my first grade spelling bee by spelling the word “father”. Dad loved coaching us in soccer. Dad is called “Gramps” by Maddie and Jake, he loves to play games with them. Dad has always been a hard worker in all he does. He’s has been married to our mom for almost 50 years. Dad always put us first, we love him so much.”

Four-year-old Mason and one-year-old Wyatt said there dad is special because “He is the best daddy in the whole wide world. Happy Fathers Day. We love you daddy.”

Six-year-old Aveda and four-year-old Lincoln said their father is special because “He gives us special treats on Fridays. He lets us play with our iPads when Mommy says no. He teaches us how to play golf. And he is special because he gives us hugs and kisses. We love you daddy.”

Ten-year-old Nicholas Welty said his dad is special because “He loves my loves my
mother and me very much. He makes our family a happy one. My dad also works very hard and never gives up with the POA. I admire my Dad very much because he is always teaching me things so I will be successful. My Dad is just basically a very great man.”

Cy Peterson

Janelle Liem said, “2016 was a tough year for my dad and our family, especially for my mom Ora. My dad Cy Peterson was diagnosed with Large Cell Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma Disffuse in the stomach. It was not easy watching him go through the chemotherapy treatments. We always see our dads as Superman; he is faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive and able to leap tall buildings in a single bound. The chemotherapy treatments are completed; his hair has grown back, he’s got an appetite and he’s even tinkering in the garage. I praise and thank God every day for my dad, my greatest mentor and teacher. And I swear, if you look under his T-shirt there is a Big “S” there. I love you Dad.”

Two-year-old Tegan Perry said, “Thank you daddy for being the best daddy in the world. I love riding bikes, skateboarding, golfing, playing baseball and swimming with you. You are my favorite. Mommy and I love you very much.”

Six-year-old Jaxson, five-year-old Colby and one-year-old Savannah said their dad is special because ” He always plays with us and is goofy and fun. He works really hard all day at the fire station so we can have fun toys. We love our dad.”

Three-year-old Mia said her dad is special because “He enjoys all of the time he takes to educate me on snakes and takes me on exciting adventures. Thank you for being so brave and teaching me to be fearless daddy.”
