Car Club rocks it at the ‘Rods and Rails’ show

Members of the Canyon Lake Car Club brought home a number of awards from the 18th annual Rods and Rails Car and Motorcycle Show on June 10. The show was held in Perris at the Orange Empire Railway Museum. The annual event has grown enormously in recent years and has become one of the city’s signature events.

The Canyon Lake winners are as follows: Dave Deboe, Best of Show Classic Restored; Denny McCoy, Peoples Choice; Ed Stutler, Peoples Choice; Hans Weg, Peoples Choice; Lee Norris, Peoples Choice; Mark Bann, Peoples Choice; Sam Theodora, Judges Choice Classic; Sherman Terry, Judges Choice Modified.

Anyone owning a pre-1973 vehicle is invited to join the Canyon Lake Car Club. The club holds monthly meetings on the first Thursday in the Holiday Bay Room at the lodge. Social hour begins at 5:30 p.m. followed by the general meeting at 6:30 p.m. At the meeting members learn about upcoming events, listen to guest speakers and share automotive experiences.
