CLMS choirs earn spot in top national rankings

On Friday, May 12, two Canyon Lake Middle School (CLMS) choirs competed at the High Notes Music Festival in Cypress, California. The Cougar and Honor choirs brought home top national superior rankings. Under the direction of Robbin Bouslog, the students have once again earned a spot in the top 10 percent of the U.S. for middle school choirs. This is the tenth consecutive year in row that Canyon Lake Middle School choirs have earned this ranking.

Robbin, a Canyon Lake resident, said she is especially proud of her middle school groups this year because she is retiring from a 30-year teaching career in the Lake Elsinore USD. “It is an amazing closure to a fulfilling and rewarding profession. I have enjoyed working with amazing students over the years,” she said.

Robbin will continue using her music education as the director of the Canyon Lake Choraleers. She would like to encourage those who enjoy singing to join the Choraleers in the fall as they begin rehearsals for their winter choir program.
