Bassmasters announce May tournament winners

Twelve teams fished under rainy and windy conditions in the Canyon Lake Bassmasters May tournament last Saturday, May 6.

The team of Nolan Cromwell and Steve Oskay took first place with 20.30 pounds of bass. Nolan caught a 5.51 pound fish, earning the “Big Bass of the Day” title.

Coming in second is the team of  Kirk Beardsley and Jim Wright with 16.34 pounds of bass. With 13.88 pounds of bass, Terry Voss and Dwayne Twomley placed third.

The Bassmasters Club meets on the first Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. in the Magnolia Room at the country club. Residents who like to fish and want to improve their skills in a low stress, friendly competitive environment are welcome to join.
