Happy Camp offers affordable holiday getaway

With its waterfront location and inexpensive rates, Happy Camp provides a close, affordable and easy family getaway destination for members and their guests.

The campground is about to enter its busy season. Reservations go quickly, especially during Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day weekends.

Happy Camp will start taking reservations for Memorial Day weekend on Saturday, May 13, at 8 a.m. There will be a three day minimum reservation between May 27 through May 30. Holiday rates will apply for all three days. Only those with a POA card and in good standing will the POA will be allowed to reserve a campsite. Only one site can be reserved per tract-lot. A $30 non-refundable deposit per campsite is required when making reservations. Reservations are on a first come, first serve basis and are not site specific.

Happy Camp is one of the best view points to watch the 4th of July Fireworks Show, campsites on that day are in high demand. A lottery will be held to award reservations.

The lottery will be held at Happy Camp on Saturday, June 17 at 10 a.m. Winners must be present to win.

Lottery tickets can be picked up from June 10 through June 16 between the hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Members who enter must agree to a $30 non-refundable deposit and to pay for a minimum of three days (July 3, 4 and 5). Winners will get to choose their campsite on a first come, first serve basis.

Reservations for Labor Day weekend begin on Saturday, August 19. Reservations are first come, first served and are not site specific.

There is a three day minimum reservations required between September 1 through September 4. Holiday rates apply for all three days.   

Cash and credit are only forms of payment accepted for reservations. The daily rates from May 1 to October 31 are as follows:

Lakefront (with hookups): $40, Sunday through Thursday; $45, Friday and Saturday; $55, holidays.

Off Water (with hookups): $35, Sunday through Thursday; $40, Friday and Saturday; $50, holidays.

Off Water (water and electric only): $30, Sunday through Thursday, $35, Friday and Saturday, $45, holidays.

Day camping is $5. Extra cars are $5.
