Choraleers Spring Concert pays tribute to Hollywood

The Canyon Lake Choraleers invite the community to attend their annual Spring Concert on May 21 at 3 p.m. in the Holiday Bay Room at the lodge. Doors open at 2:30. Tickets cost $15 and can be purchased now from any member of the Choraleers, online at brownpapertickets.com and at Member Services at the POA.

This year’s theme, “Reel Music,” pays tribute to Hollywood Motion Pictures and Academy Award winners from 1935 to 2017. The Choraleers will be presenting classic songs from Academy Award winning and nominated movies including “Singing in the Rain,” “Moon River,” “In Summer” from Frozen and “Everybody Rejoice” from the Wiz.

The Canyon Lake Choraleers was organized in 1980. The group is composed of men and women who enjoy choral singing. The vocal group meets weekly throughout the year to practice for their spring and winter concerts and for other Canyon Lake events and programs. The Choraleers are led by Robbin Bouslog who has been directing the Choraleers since 2014. She’s been teaching in the Lake Elsinore Unified School District since 1987. She has teaching credentials in Music, English and General Education.

Lynda Salina is the Choraleers’ accompanist. Lynda began playing the piano at age 3. In addition to her work with the Choraleers for many years, she accompanies middle school and high school choral groups, and has been involved with the music program at Canyon Lake Community Church.

The Choraleers membership is open to Canyon Lake residents and those in nearby communities. For more information, contact Larry Garland at 508-498-6210. choraleers.org.
