Canyon Lake Roadrunners campout at Vail Lake RV Resort

On April 23, 34 Canyon Lake Roadrunners ventured out to Vail Lake RV Resort. “Although the campground was close as the crow flies, we all had a feeling of being way out in the country,” said member Lou DeYoung. “All guests had view sites of the hills, valleys and Vail Lake.”

Meals were served outside by the committee, with a roaring fire adding to the ambiance of the event. Campers played lots of games, including miniature golf and pickelball. A golf tournament was held at the Legends at Temeku Golf Course.

Lou said, “trips to Stein Mart and local casinos was short, making many of the campers quite happy. We were even visited by busy raccoons at night that enjoyed all of our trash. What a wonderful way to spend time with friends, enjoying the beauty of nature.”

Any resident who owns an RV is welcome to join the Roadrunners RV Club. The club holds dinner meetings on the second Tuesday of each month. Social hour begins at 5 p.m.; dinner is served at 6 p.m. In addition to monthly dinner meetings, the club takes six to eight trips per year.
