Chamber Notes

The Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce is an association of businesses and individuals organized to encourage a strong local economy and quality of life by promoting and advancing the community, civic, cultural and educational development of the Canyon Lake area while providing a valuable forum for issues affecting local commerce and the general well-being of the community. For more information, contact Chamber Executive Director Alison Burrafato at 951-244-6124.

Ball Drop

The Chamber invites residents to participate in it’s first annual Ball Drop for a chance to win up to $5,000. The Ball Drop will take place after the Chamber’s annual Golf Tournament on Saturday, May 20. Participants don’t have to enter the tournament to participate and winner need not be present to win.

Golf ball “numbers” can be purchased for $10 each at the Chamber, Pack, Wrap and Post in the Towne Center and at the Canyon Lake Country Club Pro Shop. The purchaser provides their contact information and receives one number per ball; not the actual golf ball.

Using a mechanical lift, the hopper filled with the numbered golf balls will be lifted and dropped all at once over a hole (cup) on the Practice Range. The purchaser of the numbered ball that lands in the bottom of the hole will receive half the money collected from the Ball Drop sales, up to $5,000.

A limited number of balls are available. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Canyon Lake Jr. Golf Program.

Golf Tournament

The Chamber invites the public to participate in its annual Golf Tournament on Saturday, May 20. Registration begins at 10 a.m. followed by special contests, shotgun start at noon, annual Ball Drop, dinner, awards and raffles.

This year’s registration form has three flights: Open, Senior (60+ all participants) and Jack & Jill (2 women, 2 men). Registration is $100 per player; Canyon Lake Golf Course members pay only $65. Registration includes rounds of golf, golf cart fee and dinner. The cost to attend dinner only is $25.

Completed registration form and payment made payable to the Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce should be mailed to the Chamber at 31566 Railroad Canyon Rd., Canyon Lake, CA. 92587. Participants also may sign up at the Pro Shop at the country club and at Pack, Wrap and Post.

Sponsorship opportunities are available and range from sponsoring a tee or special contest to donating a gift basket for the raffle.

Proceeds from this event will go toward the Canyon Lake Jr. Golf Program. Gabe Hrab, the PGA pro who started the Jr. Golf Program in 1980, will be in attendance. For more information, contact Alison Burrafato at the Chamber office at 951-244-6124 or
