Mark calendars for annual Community Swapmeet

The Family Matters Club is hosting its third Community Swapmeet on Saturday, May 6, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at East Port Park.

The club is inviting residents to reserve a space at the swap meet for $15 (used items). Vendors (new items) are invited to reserve a 10×10 space for $40. Form and payment are due by April 29. Spaces are limited.

The Family Matters Club will be selling hot dogs, chips, snack food and beverages to keep everyone powered up during their treasure-seeking or selling.

“What a great way to sell off some items, make some extra cash and have us do all the advertising and signs for you. Much easier than wondering if people will see your signs and come to your street,” said Family Matters Club Founder Shawna Bowen.

“This will be a great day to find bargains, treasures and see what’s new at the vendor booths! So come out support the Family Matters Club, either by getting a booth, buying a hot dog or supporting the sellers.”

On the day of the event, sellers and vendors will be able to bring their items by car between 6 and 8 a.m., after which all vehicles must be removed from the park. Shopping will be by golf cart, bicycle and foot traffic only. The sale will start at 8 a.m.; no early-bird shoppers will be allowed during setup. Cleanup will be from 1 to 2 p.m.
