The Canyon Lake Bassmasters Club invites kids ages 11 to 15 to participate in its annual Jr. Bassmasters Tournament on Sunday, April 9. Canyon Lake residency is not a requirement.

The registration fee is $25.00 and covers the cost of joining The Bass Federation.

The tournament is a qualifying event for the state finals on May 28 on the California Delta. One winner at the state finals will receive a trip to the Junior World Championship in Columbia, South Carolina, in August.

Previous participants from Canyon Lake have won scholarship money at the Junior World Championship.

Registration is a must; organizers need to know how many boats to provide. For more information, contact Sal Gervasi at 951-746-4072.

The Bassmasters Club meets on the first Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. in the Magnolia Room at the Country Club.

Residents who like to fish and want to improve their skills in a low stress, friendly competitive environment are welcome to join.

For more information about membership, contact Bassmasters Club President Terry Voss at 951-536-9341.
