Catch Of The Day

Janet Stephens caught this large-mouth bass near the dock at Roadrunner Park. It weighs 6.4 pounds. Janet says she used her usual craw bait to catch it. Adam Johnston, who was playing a Horseshoe Tournament at the park while Janet was fishing, came over to kiss her fish for good luck. “A fisherman’s saying is that we’re suppose to kiss the fish we catch for good luck,” says the angler.

Janet released the fish back into the lake. She says, “I always catch and release my bass and take pride in trying to never damage the fish or leave a hook in their mouths.” Janet set up the Facebook group “Canyon Lake Bass Babes” for lady anglers who wish to share photos of their catches.
