‘Turkeys on the Loose’ Tournament

Sixty golfers participated in the Women’s Golf Club “Turkeys on the Loose” Jack & Jill Tournament on Saturday, November 12. The recently over-seeded course has filled in quickly, allowing players to drive on the fairways again. Golf was followed by a turkey and “all the fixings” luncheon prior to the awards presentations.

Teams played a four-person game in which each player of the teams was assigned to be a turkey, pilgrim, pumpkin or an Indian. The scores of two players were taken on each hole, but the teams had to go to the next tee to see signs indicating whose balls were to be used and counted for their scores.

The tournament winners are:

A Flight 2nd place low gross: Barbara Spraul and Fran Pothier, Mary Burns and Steve Spaeth

A Flight 2nd place low net: Alice and Carlos Ramirez, Pat and Mike Spencer

B Flight 1st place low gross: Maxine Whalen and Robb Smith, Linda Johnson and Barry Talbot

B Flight 1st place low net: Lila and Larry Gann, Cheryl and Les Evans

B Flight 2nd place low gross: Darlene and Ed Cortez, Linda and Chuck Hudson

B Flight 2nd place low net: Ellie and Bob Clow, Laverne Cann and Lee Lilly

The Committee of Clair Bond, Lila Gann, Inga Loy and Sue Hoover expressed their thanks to everyone who helped to make the event a great success, especially Pat Kemball and his Pro Shop staff, Course Superintendent Mark Louder and his staff; Christina Barton and all of the Country Club staff.
