Barbara Spraul

Barbara moved to Canyon Lake in 1989. She became actively involved in the community when she retired in 2008. Barbara is one of the original members of the 9ers Golf Club. She currently serves as the club’s secretary but has served numerous board positions in the past. She’s a four year member of the Women’s Golf Club. This year Barbara is serving as the club’s membership chair. She joined the Woman’s Club six years ago and has served on its board for four years. As a member of the Travel Club she participates in the group’s many activities. Barbara, along with her husband David, sponsors the War Birds West planes flyover in the Towne Center on Veterans Day. For two consecutive years the couple contributed $1,000 to the Veterans Day Committee to make the flyover possible for the residents of Canyon Lake. David, a disabled Vietnam veteran, and Barbara say they feel blessed to be able to do this for their community. Barbara says being a volunteer has been rewarding. “It has given so much back to me. I’ve met a lot of great friends because I got involved.”
