When your role changes from spouse to caregiver, child to caregiver, or concerned loved one to caregiver and your plans and dreams crash to the ground, how can you pick up the pieces and form a new dream: one that shows compassion, love and respect without being resentful?
Members of Caregivers Connection are invited to hear Pat Van Dyke discuss these role changes when she presents “Defining a Caring Heart” on Monday, November 14. The support group will meet from 10 a.m. to noon in Room 6 in the gym of the Canyon Lake Community Church.
Men and women who provide care for their husbands, wives or parents for illnesses such as dementia, Alzheimer’s, stroke, heart issues or Parkinson’s are invited to attend Caregivers Connection, which meets on the second and fourth Mondays of each month.
For more information about this support group, contact facilitator Jo Ann Wickerath at 679-7736 or assistant facilitator Bev Haney at 244-8711.
