City to honor Nancy Carroll

The City will honor Nancy Carroll and present her with a special recognition plaque at the City Council meeting on Wednesday, October 12, at 6:30 p.m. Nancy is being honored for 27 years of service on the Canyon Lake Emergency Preparedness Committee. She served 25 years as the committee’s president, a position now being filled by Larry Greene.

Eight former Canyon Lake Mayors plan to attend the meeting, including Nancy Horton, Randy Bonner, Jordan Ehrenkranz, John Zaitz, Jack Wamsley and three-term Mayor Mary Craton.

In addition to her years of service on the committee, Nancy has coordinated emergency services for Canyon Lake during floods and over catastrophes over the past 25 years, and teaches free Hands Only CPR classes to Canyon Lake residents.

A resident since 1989, Nancy was named “Volunteer of the Year” in 2011. She is a member of the Canyon Lake Lioness Club and a volunteer at the First Aid booths at various City and CLPOA events.
