Taco Tuesday is for tacos, margaritas, sand castles

The June 28 Taco Tuesday was again the place to be with temperatures that were cooling down by the time it began at Sunset Beach. The 80-degree water was filled with children and adults. The beach also was filled with families and friends having a great time.

F1-PIC-Taco-Tues-snow-cone-kids-DKThe Family Matters Club held a pirate event complete with sand castle-building, pirate hats and goodie bags for the kids. Good Time Entertainment’s Mike Shroyer, in addition to playing music that kept everyone in a summer-fun spirit, held several contests for the kids, including dance and hula hoop. Winners were treated to their choice of yummy items, including cotton candy and snow cones from the snack bar.

F1-PICTaco-Tues-sand-castle-contest8-DkTaco Tuesday runs through August 2, from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Buffet lines in the lower level of the Lodge offer tacos, enchiladas, tostada salads, nachos, rice, beans and more. The indoor and outdoor bars are operating. Guests can purchase refillable 22-ounce Iconic Taco Tuesday logo cups for $14 with margarita and $4 for refills. The snack bar has Hawaiian Shave Ice, cotton candy, popcorn, fountain drinks and caramel mocha Frappuccinos. The snack bar also sells wristbands ($3) for children to use the jumper slide.

Good Time Entertainment DJ Mike Shroyer provides music each week, along with his popular dance-along contests, trivia contests and other games. ShowCal Skiers will offer ski shows on select weeks.

A golf cart shuttle picks up and drops off on the Lighthouse/Canyon Club loop and at the Lodge entry.
