July events offer a little something for everyone

The Association has a several events coming up this month.

  • Canyon Lake Junior Golf Camp will be held July 11 to 15, hosted by the Golf Pro Shop staff and Family Golf Club. The fee per junior golfer is $35. Sign up at the Pro Shop.
  • Everyone with a bike, skateboard or scooter is invited to Eastport Park on Friday, July 15, from 3 to 6 p.m. for a Pumptrack Demo Tour Day hosted by American Ramp Company. Use of the track is free but parents must be there to sign a waiver for children under 18.
  • The next Family Movie Nights at Holiday Harbor are scheduled for July 8, August 5, August 19 and September 9. They are free and most movies are rated PG. Everyone is invited to bring their own chair or blanket to sit on the slope, along with their own food and beverages. Snacks sometimes are available for purchase at the snack bar.
  • Flick-n-Float Movie Nights at the Lodge pool are scheduled for July 16, August 13 and September 17. Movies start at dusk. These are free events for residents and their guests. Movies this year will be for older children and adults, most rated PG-13.
  • Grammy-winning singer Suzy Bogguss is coming to Canyon Lake on Saturday, July 30, at 7 p.m. for a private concert at the Lodge.

Bogguss has charted six Top 10 singles, won the Academy of Country Music’s “Top New Female Vocalist” Award and the Country Music Association’s “Horizon Award”. During the 1990s, she sold more than 4 million records.  Among her best known hits are “Outbound Plane,” “Someday Soon,” “Letting Go” and “Drive South.”

This concert is part of the Association’s “Concerts At The Lodge” series which brings quality national musicians to Canyon Lake. Past performers include David Cook, Collin Raye, Hal Ketchum and Johnny Lee.

VIP tickets are $55 per person and includes a private entrance with preferred seating closest to the stage and exclusive VIP bar access. General Admission tickets are $30. Tickets are available online at www.canyonlakepoa.com. Tickets can also be purchased (credit/debit card transactions only) at the Member Service office.
