She was born December 14, 1938 in El Monte, California, and raised her family in Covina. She and her late husband, Bill, were Canyon Lake residents for more than 31 years. Nancy was very active in Canyon Lake during those years. She was the founder/facilitator of Women’s Bunco for more than 25 years, and encouraged members of that group to support the Sun City Food Pantry. She was a volunteer with the Pantry and adopted several families to help during the holidays over the years. Nancy also was a novelist, authoring “Tunnels to Freedom” and “Rebecca Sue, Searching for Pauly.”

She is survived by her three children, Vickie (Jeff) Nelson of Vista, Kathy Scott (Glen Harwick) of Beaverton, Oregon, and Danny (Tonya) Novak of Las Vegas. She also has eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, a brother and two sisters living in California, and one sister living in Oregon.

The family will hold a Celebration of Life Saturday, June 25, at 2 p.m. at Canyon Lake Community Church. Following the service, a reception will be held at the Canyon Lake Country Club from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Those who knew Nancy are invited to come and share their stories with the family.
