Hannah Abbate

Hannah Abbate is a senior in the fashion program at Temescal Canyon High School, where she has been taking fashion classes all four years of high school As a Fashion 4 student and president of the Fashion Club, Hannah was put in charge of running the class and overseeing everything that went into planning the end-of-year fashion show, held May 19 in the TCHS theater.

Hannah designed, dyed and made a two-piece outfit that was showcased at the Palomar Fashion Show on May 6. After coming up with the design, the garment took her almost a full month to complete. The outfit also was modeled at the TCHS Fashion Show.

At Senior Awards Night, Hannah was awarded an honor cord for satisfying the requirements in Fashion/CTE, as well as an award for excellence in Fashion 4.

Hannah also received two signed Certificates of Recognition for her accomplishments as “Fashion Club Leader” – one from the California State Assembly (Melissa Melendez) and one from California Senator Jeff Stone.

Outside of fashion, Hannah is a softball player and member of the TCHS Varsity Softball Team for the past two years. The team recently beat Paloma Valley High School to become the 2016 Sunbelt League Champions. This is the team’s second league title in a row after not having one for several years.

With all of that going on, Hannah has maintained a 4.0 GPA both first and second semester, and has earned an athletic and academic scholarship to play Warriors Softball this fall at Sterling College, a private, Christian four-year liberal arts college in Sterling, Kansas. She also received a scholarship from the Canyon Lake Jr. Women’s Club.

“I’m extremely blessed for the opportunities I have ahead of me,” she says.
