Cub Scouts receive awards, celebrate anniversary

Cub Scout Pack 346 celebrated the anniversary of Scouting on March 13 with a science fiction-themed banquet that included guests from the Klingon Assault Group (KAG) and the 501st Legion. Many of the Scouts achieved their rank in time to be awarded at the event.

The rank of Webelos was achieved by Bladen Hartley, Zackary Zander and Zane Zander. The rank of Bear was achieved by Gavin Dalton, Aidan McColley, Owen Munoz, Luke Remley, Luke Thomas and Matthew Thomas. The rank of Wolf was achieved by Wyatt Sidwell. The rank of Tiger was achieved by Logan Caglia, Brody Heider, Mason Lavin and Baron Sidwell. Xander Boulanger, who recently joined the Tiger den, completed his Bobcat Trail and was honored with the Bobcat Ceremony.

The event also celebrated the achievements from the past year of the Scouts as well as the Pack and its leaders.

Boy Scouts of America honored Pack 346 with the Gold Journey to Excellence Award for 2015. This honor is given to units for excellence in performance in the areas of planning, membership, programming and leadership. Each Scout and Leader received a patch to wear on their uniform in honor of the pack’s achievement.

Recruitment of new scouts into Pack 346 for the 2016/2017 season will kick off on June 5, from 3 to 5 p.m., at Canyon Hills Sports Park. Pack 346 is the Canyon Lake/Canyon Hills/Tuscany Hills Cub Scout Pack for boys 1st through 5th grade.
