Yacht Club crew members clean up the lake

On Saturday, May 14, the Canyon Lake Yacht Club held its annual lake cleanup. Four pontoon boats carrying Yacht Club members met at Diamond Point Park at 10 a.m. to go up and down the East Bay and Main Lake to scoop debris from the water.

Commodore Bob Templeton would like to thank photographer Bert Barbay and the following captains and crews:

Boat Captain Pete Delia with crew members Pete Ahlgrim and Pat Chronis;

Boat Captain Mike Lee with crew members Mike and Lyne Hall and Robert “Tink” Hultz;

Boat Captain Jim Lafferty and First Mate Jane Lafferty with crew member Ron Kelly;

Boat Captain Jim Lange with crew members Dave Dain and Bob Templeton.

Afterward, lunch was served at the home of Suzi and Pete Delia. “What a turnout of the boat captains and crews, along with other members of the Yacht Club,” says Bob. “It was a potluck event and the food was delicious, along with the liquid refreshments. I would like to thank all the Yacht Club members who showed up and I do know they all had a great time. What a great job by all and thanks.”

The Yacht Club also thanks Mike Morrow and the rest of the Operations Department for the equipment furnished and for their time.

He adds, “Last but not least, we would like to thank all the residents who came out on their patios, boat docks and those who were fishing, to thank us for what the Yacht Club was doing.

Just a reminder to those who go out on our wonderful lake to swim, water ski, fish or relax – if you see debris floating, scoop it out. Keep the lake beautiful!”
