‘100 Women Strong’ raise money for charities

On May 1, 101 women attended the 3rd annual “100 Women Strong” luncheon in Canyon Lake.

The group was started in 2014 by Canyon Lakers Liz Murphy, Becky Ness and Debra Kipp. Their idea was simple: 100 women would donate $100 each to local charities in need. Over the past three years, the group has raised over $30,000 to create change in the community.

This year, the group heard presentations from The Center 4 Life Change, Calvary Canyon Hills Food Pantry, TIP Trauma Intervention Program and Hope Learning Academy.

The luncheon is held in Canyon Lake on the first Sunday of May each year. Anyone interested in attending future events can email their name, home address and email address to Liz Murphy at enmurph@aol.com.
