Caregivers can ‘Ask the Doctor’

Anyone caring for a loved one for illnesses such as dementia, Alzheimer’s, stroke, heart issues or Parkinson’s is invited to attend Caregivers Connection, a support group that offers an opportunity for caregivers to share common problems, needs and experiences.

On May 9, those attending the Caregivers Connection meeting will have the opportunity to “Ask the Doctor” when Dr. Leslee Cochrane facilitates an open forum during which attendees will be given the opportunity to ask medical related questions. According to the doctor, topics frequently discussed include Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, medication questions and heart disease as well as how to manage patients with dementia and behavioral issues.

This Caregivers Connection meeting will take place in Room D130 at Canyon Lake Community Church from 10 a.m. to noon.

Dr. Cochrane joined Hospice of the Valleys in October of 2011 where he now serves as the Executive Medical Director.
