Letters: Who Do I Choose?

Editor, The Friday Flyer:

I attended the POA Board candidates meeting Monday night to meet the candidates. I am 45 years old, married with a 7-year-old son and a 3-month-old daughter. I have lived in Canyon Lake for six years now and have wondered why things are done the way they are done. Now I understand why and I am writing this to help readers make a sensible vote for POA Board members.

My point of view comes from that of the average Canyon Lake family that has little time to attend meetings and get involved with local politics.

First choices – Paul Queen and Matt Poland. These are the guys to vote for this election. Both represent the silent majority.

If you are busy with work and have a family and don’t have the time to go to Board meetings and get involved with local politics, these two candidates are the guys that represent the average family in Canyon Lake. They use basic logic and fairness and strive to make this a quality community for all of us, not just the retired golfers.

George Christopher Williams seems like a good guy, but his main interest is a focus on the Lake Lease and its legal ramifications. He is a good choice if your only concern is the Lake Lease, but Paul and Matt are stronger.

Dale Welty represents the retired golfers. The golf community sent an email to its members asking them to cast both votes for Dale. If you are a retired golfer, vote for Dale. Dale is responsible for the new playground equipment installed at Sierra Park. Take a look, the shade on the equipment is about the size of a golf umbrella, pun intended.
